IMPORTANT: Registration Changes for Fall 2026

Please read the following updates carefully before registering for the Fall 2026 season.

New Age Group Guidelines (School Year Based):

After 10 years of using birth years (Jan-Dec) to form teams, US Soccer returns to school year (Aug 1 – Jul 31) team formation for the Fall 2026 season. Kids will now play with and against teammates in their same school grade.

Team Reshuffling: The new guidelines will require clubs to reshuffle teams, so we may not be able to get your child on the same team as last season. Play-up requests will only be considered where the board believes both the child and the team will benefit.

August Birthdays: If your child was born in August, the system will offer two grade options. This is where we see the most exceptions to the school year dates used by Washington Youth Soccer. You may choose either.

Exceptions: If your child started school early or late and you are not given an option for their grade, we can't guarantee placing them with their school grade group. Please register for the age group provided for your child and make a note in the "Special Requests" area of the registration form.

One Team Only:

Fircrest Soccer Club (FSC) teams participate in recreational leagues. You are not allowed to play with a team from any other club, competitive or recreational. If we find you are participating on team with another club, your FSC registration will be cancelled and no refund will be given. School teams are OK.

Player Profile Pictures (5th/6th Graders):

Individual photos are required for all U11 and older teams.

Please upload a clear, centered headshot (preferably JPG) during registration.

No hats or sunglasses, please!

No U-13 (7th Grade) and Older Teams:

The Whittier Elementary replacement project starts this summer (June 2026) and runs through December 2027. The construction team will use a portion of Whittier Park to store equipment and materials, which means we will only have room for one field at Whittier Park this fall. With only a couple of full-field (U13+) teams, the FSC board has decided to end our programming at U-12 and have the U-13 and older teams register with either NorTac or University Place Soccer Clubs, at least for now. We encourage you to contact friends to see where they are playing, and register early.
